The Pros2Know Networking is an elite social networking group comprised of individuals and businesses in varied areas of professions and business industries throughout Long Island. The group meets regularly and hosts social networking events on a routine basis. The goal of Pros2Know Networking is to refer business to and among its members. Pros2Know Networking provides each member with an active marketing presence on social media and the internet. Additionally, Pros2Know Networking also has “vendor members” that are comprised of local business owners and certain trades persons. Vendor members are required to attend regular monthly meetings but benefit from membership and the social networking advertising that Pros2Know Networking has to offer.

So here is what we are doing (and why):

– Inviting professionals with drive opposed to hobbyists.
– Opening the event to professionals including ones from the same field.
– Social gathering with no format other than developing relationships with likeminded people.
– Unlike BNI and Letip there are no lead quotas.

Why :

  • We have all been associated to a networking group like Letip etc.. Like you, we have found that:
  • You received leads that were FOR the person in the group to meet your quota.
  • You HAD to be there every week.
  • You had to follow a structured format.
  • You had to pay dues to be there.
  • You found that 50% of the people in the group were in other groups.
  • You found that 25% of the people were in hobby businesses.

This is an informal format focusing on RELATIONSHIPS and IDEAS. We found that the Letip’s of the world failed to create actual relationships by having to follow a scheduled format. We found this to be a key reason for a poor quality of leads.

  • Centers of influence are developed by relationships not requirements.
  • Relationships build trust in your field not schedules.
  • Why similar fields? Answer: By every Burger king you will generally find a McDonalds Hmmm.
  • A Real Estate attorney in Queens may not know the local laws of Suffolk – A reciprocal relationship is formed.
  • A Commercial realtor is help to help a residential Realtor sell a shopping center. Withall the “Need to Knows” required for that, a typical residential realtor wouldn’t have a chance at the listing.
  • A reciprocal relationship is formed
  • A commercial Insurance Agent concentrates on Contractors (tough field in NY) allows a personal lines Agent to secure an account through the commercial Agent’s markets.
I can go on and on about this but remember that it is always better to get something than losing it all together.
 
IDEAS, IDEAS, IDEAS. We always encourage business/marketing ideas. We may be good at what we do but your marketing methods may work better. We wouldn’t know unless we spoke about it.
The last point is something I always found interesting. When was the last time you met someone that within the first minute you were “NOT” handed their business card?
Try engaging in a conversation first and then if there is a connection  ask for a card. There will be a much better shot at calling them because of the CONNECTION not the CARD. Try it out sometime because you know we all have a drawer of cards that never get called.
